Rare photograph of Eastern Spotted Skunk captured

A recent rare photograph of an Eastern Spotted Skunk has been captured with a motion sensor camera in Virginia.

I've never heard, or knew this animal existed. Apparently they were quite common as recently as 60 years ago, but have been in severe decline since.

In late October Ben Shrader captured a photograph of the now rare mammal using a motion sensor camera along the Appalachian Trail on Tinker Mountain in Botetourt County, Virginia.

The NPS photo below is from Wikipedia. To see Shrader's photo, please click here. For a little more information on the Eastern Spotted Skunk, please click here.
