Top 10 Beginner Hiker Blunders

Professor Hike, via Backpacker Magazine, offers his Top 10 Beginner Hiker Blunders.

Wow, looking over this list I can say that I have been guilty on several of these counts - most of them from my Red River Gorge days right out of high school.

If you're relatively new to hiking yourself, or if you know ofanyone just getting into the sport, you may want to look over this list.

Thank you for making this list! I especially agree with #7. I think it's worth the time break-in a pair of shoes. You'll definitely move a lot better and it'll saves you some painful blisters in the process. Thanks again!
