Those machines are expensive. While skiing this last weekend I saw a handicap person in a ski chair being controlled by a friend skiing behind. It was pretty cool and I was glad that person was able to get out and enjoy nature. In 25 years of skiing I have never seen such a device before. Probly won't see one again. Don't modify the trails...but if someone can get out and "hike" with a little asitance...why should I stop them?My Life Outdoorshttp://www.mylifeoutdoors.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6651656564842797172.post-9162644088009084462011-02-03T22:23:30.485-05:002011-02-03T22:23:30.485-05:00WTF?WTF?HometownHikerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03507623571330364950noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6651656564842797172.post-62128121537369998672011-02-03T15:23:23.221-05:002011-02-03T15:23:23.221-05:00I don't want to sound insensitive, but this la...I don't want to sound insensitive, but this lacks any common sense. Those devices you mentioned can go pretty fast...what happens if a child stepped in front of one of those? Not to mention a hiker going the opposite way around a hidden corner? Sounds like a bad accident just waiting to happen.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6651656564842797172.post-52684611669820625562011-02-03T14:05:14.384-05:002011-02-03T14:05:14.384-05:00I can't see them changing natural trails by re...I can't see them changing natural trails by removing roots, rocks, etc. to make them accessible for mobility units. That's just plain crazy. I can understand using them on paved trails as nothing needs to be moved or removed. I'm some what impaired by severe arthritis but I understand my limits and don't expect exceptions. Natural trails should be left as they are!Christinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14880046224880273404noreply@blogger.com
