My only point was that I think there may be a percentage of locals(large or small), that have stayed nearby in recent years to save money, but have decided to do something different this year. The only cost is the fuel to get there. Maybe you have more destination hikers that you realize, hikers who travel a significant distance to hike the Smokies.
