I see where Nancy Gray is retiring as media spokeswoman for the national park. From The Mountain Press:
"Congratulations for a job well done to Nancy Gray, who retired this month from the National Park Service after a 38-year career, the last 22 of them at Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Gray served for many years as a spokeswoman for the media, the go-to person for information and the one who churned out news releases. Working with Bob Miller, the two served area media well. Gray told us what was going on, gave us road conditions and snow conditions, tipped us off to good stories, coordinated media events such as the 75th anniversary of the park, and did it all with charm, good humor and a knowledge of the topics. It had to be a bittersweet time for Gray, who was excited about the possibilities post-job and wistful about leaving it behind. It won’t be the same to us media folk, but we all will be pleased knowing that Nancy Gray is enjoying a much earned retirement. Thanks for all you did."
