If you're planning a hiking trip to the Abrams Creek area in the near future, please take note of this warning from the Smokies website:
Hikers have reported extensive damage to Beard Cane and Cooper Road trails in the Abrams Creek area. Severe storms in the area have resulted in numerous downed trees. Beard Cane is reported to be impassable.
