Full Moon Hikes in the Smokies

Once again, Great Smoky Mountain National Park is offering guided Full Moon Hikes. This year, there will be hikes in Cades Cove and on Clingmans Dome (“Full Moon on Top of the Smokies”). All four hikes are considered to be easy. Here’s the schedule:

July 6: Clingmans Dome
July 7: Cades Cove

August 3: Clingmans Dome
August 6: Cades Cove

For the Full Moon on Top of the Smokies Hikes, meet at 8:00 p.m. at the Clingmans Dome trailhead. If all goes well, the hikes will include a spectacular sunset and full moon view. Bring a flashlight. Duration: 1.5 hours.

The Cades Cove Full Moon Hikes will meet at 8:30 p.m. at the Orientation Shelter at the beginning of the Cades Cove Loop Road. Duration: 2 hours.
