There will be food, music, hiking, biking, and family fun.

Highlights include trail hikes in both the Nantahala National Forest and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park; Fall Bass Tournament on Fontana Lake and Fish Fry; a biannual sweep of Fontana Lake, Hazel Creek & Eagle Creek, removing any debris from the waterway; Lectures by regional outdoor conservationists to educate the public about the importance of maintaining the National Park for future generations to enjoy; Appalachian music and arts highlighting the history of the people who live in the North Carolina and Tennessee mountains.

The center for most of the events will be at the Fontana Village and the shores of Fontana Lake bordering the National Park.
