What's the number one reason why you like to hike?
You may notice there’s a new poll question on this blog (located in the upper right hand corner). I was just curious as to what the most popular reason is for readers of this blog to get out and go hiking. I’ll leave this up for a week or two, and then report on the final numbers.
(You'll need to click on the "Vote" button to make your vote count - hey, don't want any hanging chad issues!)
Feel free to leave a comment if you wish to expound on the reasons for your choice.

There is nothing that replaces the calm of being in nature.
My favorite memories are camping at Elkmont, Abrahams Falls cooling off, Butterflies in July at Cataloochee.
The more you experience nature the less you want other things.
FYI - You will see plants you have never seen before.
