Chattanooga Hiking Club Hosts Yosemite Ranger

Tuesday, February 1, 2011

For those of you that live in the Chattanooga area, or will be in the Chattanooga area next week, you may want to make note that the Chattanooga Hiking Club will be welcoming National Park Service seasonal ranger David Rose to their next monthly meeting on Monday, February 7th.

For five months out of the year, Ranger Rose lives in a wilderness cabin at Glacier Point in Yosemite National Park. Rose, who makes his home in Tennessee during the off season, will be sharing stories about living and working in one of the nation's most spectacular and wild settings. The meeting is free and open to the public.

The club will meet at 6:30 p.m. at Outdoor Chattanooga, 200 River Street in Coolidge Park. To learn more, click here, or email CHC president Gary Petty.

If you can't make it to see his presentation next week, you can still check out his blog. He has some great stories and some great photos.
